Peter Burnham

Peter has extensive expertise in wealth management and family office services, with a career spanning almost 25 years. Peter specializes on work with UHNW clients—specifically CEOs, founders, attorneys, and other executives.

Peter’s unique approach is well known, both within the Diversify community and the broader wealth management space. Rather than focusing on purely financial goals, Peter works to help his clients achieve their life goals… whether they want to retire early, start a new business, set their children up for success, engage in philanthropy, or serve on nonprofit boards.

Prior to joining Diversify, Peter worked with HNW and UHNW clients at Merrill Lynch, Ferris, BakerWatts, and Charles Schwab. A proud Terrapin, Peter earned his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Maryland and is a Certified Financial Planner®. Peter lives with his wife and two young daughters in Northern Virginia.

Like many of his clients, Peter is committed to giving back to the community. Years ago, for example, a client approached Peter about starting a kidney cancer nonprofit after the client’s son received a terrifying diagnosis. As usual, Peter went above and beyond. Eight years later, Peter is now the chairman of the board, overseeing a global leader in its space that has distributed $1.5M to leading research institutions. Peter is also an active supporter of The Children’s Inn, Street Sense Media, Back on my Feet, Dream on 3 and a range of other nonprofit organizations.
